Yasha (Yakov) Ginzburg was born in the former USSR and immigrated to Israel in 1990. He finished his undergraduate chemistry studies in Ben Gurion university of the Negev in Be’er Sheva where he also received his Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry in 2016, on “Development of novel catalysts for olefin metathesis reaction” under the supervision of Prof. Gabriel Lemcoff.
He then joined Recipharm AB, one of the five largest pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organizations in the world, first as a research chemist and then as a project manager. After 4.5 years Yasha left Recipharm AB and joined Merck Sigma-Aldrich Israel where he is currently an R&D manager Microbiome Metabolomics Technologies department.
In addition to working in organic, organometallic and polymer chemistry, Yasha is a Capoeira practitioner in the past 16 years and a new Yoga student.
