Ping Hu
R&D Director & Principal Scientist Procter & Gamble
Ping Hu is the computational biology capability leader, principal scientist of the Procter & Gamble Company Corporate Function Bioscience Department. Ping has worked on variety of the microbial related projects covering industrial microbial contamination detection, probiotic products development, metagenomics and meta-transcriptomics understanding of skin, oral, baby, feminine, fabric, build environment microbial communities. Ping also has experience in human clinical, genetics and expressional data analysis, developing artificial intelligent enabled bio-digital applications and database systems. Recently Ping is leading an effort to explore new sequencing-based capability and their usage on the microbial detection, quality control and risk accessing evaluating technologies from Nanopore, PacBio, etc.
Seminars
- Explore the complex interactions within the human microbiome and how these dynamics influence health and product efficacy in multiple areas including skin and oral care
- Discuss the integration of multiomics technologies, such as RNASeq and metagenomics, proteomics to uncover the mechanisms of microbial response to therapeutic ingredients
- Illustrate case studies from Procter & Gamble that demonstrate how microbiome research translates into actionable strategies for consumer product development, emphasising the role of biomarkers and mechanistic understanding in driving innovation
